'The Lord's Supper in three Courses'
Holy Spirit meets every Thursday in the Jonathan Daniels Room of St. Paul's Commons, 840 Echo Park Avenue, Los Angeles, California 90026. (See our Find Us Here page for directions.)
We call our service “The Lord’s Supper in 3 Courses”:
• A gathering of food, drink and fellowship;
• A contemporary service of Holy Communion using modern scriptural texts and an open time of reflection, and
• Dessert and more fellowship.
Food, drinks and social time together (optional) begins at 7 p.m., and the service starts about 7:30 p.m.

All those who have been killed, injured, or affected by the war in Iran, especially children.
The people of Iran, Lebanon, Ukraine, Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel.
All those impacted by climate change and natural disasters, especially those in Hawaii, Nepal, and Venezuela.
All victims of injustice, terrorism, discrimination, and abuse.
All who are threatened by government officials and agents with unjust detainment and deportations.
All DACA dreamers and their families, refugees and asylum seekers.
An end to violence, especially gun violence and its victims.
All who are unemployed, unhoused, or hungry.
All who suffer from fear, despair, mental illness, addiction, or memory loss.
The holy table is the focus of our worship at Holy Spirit. First, we grab a drink, then line up for that evening's food offering, and sit for social time. We then gather in a semicircle for the service, which includes prayers for the community's intentions and the assigned readings. A reflection leader opens our discussion by sharing their thoughts. All are then invited to share, as they are comfortable. On a special occasion, such as the Jonathan Daniels feast day celebration above, we may watch a video as the discussion launch point. At the Offertory, the table is reset for Holy Communion and we gather around for the Consecration of the bread and wine. Our service ends with a "last course" of dessert and more social time.
